Filing Requirements
A tenant should preserve a forwarding address and make a clear demand for return of the deposit because Oklahoma ties the deposit-return rule to the end of the tenancy, delivery of possession, and proper accounting by the landlord.

Key Oklahoma Statutes
In Oklahoma, a landlord generally must return the security deposit within 45 days after termination of the tenancy and delivery of possession, together with an itemized written statement of any lawful deductions.
If a landlord wrongfully withholds a security deposit, Oklahoma law may allow the tenant to recover the money due and, in the right case, attorney’s fees and court costs.
