Washington law

Social Security Disability Laws in Washington.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are federal programs administered by the Social Security Administration under the Social Security Act. Washington state law does not change eligibility, benefit amounts, or the adjudication process. Initial disability determinations for Washington claimants are made by the Washington Division of Disability Determination Services (DDS) under contract with SSA. Washington supplements SSI with a state payment through the Department of Social and Health Services.
