Wyoming law

Business Laws in Wyoming.

Wyoming is nationally distinctive for its business-entity laws. Wyoming enacted the first modern U.S. Limited Liability Company statute in 1977 (Wyo. Stat. § 17-29), serving as the model for LLC statutes nationwide. Wyoming has continued to innovate — authorizing the Wyoming Close Corporation Supplement (Wyo. Stat. § 17-17), Series LLCs, the Wyoming Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) Supplement (Wyo. Stat. § 17-31, 2021 — first in U.S.), and a Special Purpose Depository Institution (SPDI) bank charter (2019 — first U.S. "crypto bank" charter).
